Approximately 12 minutes across questions, everyday or workplace role plays, read aloud with follow-ups and a prepared one-to-two-minute talk.

Start with the route's required skills and CEFR level. Four-skill Academic and General tests and the two-skill A1-A2-B1 suite are not interchangeable.
Core concepts
Concept 1
General Speaking uses four interlocutor-led parts in everyday-life, work-related and general contexts.
Exam cue: Answer personal questions directly and extend naturally.
Concept 2
Role plays require both appropriate response and initiation.
Exam cue: Identify role, relationship and desired outcome in each role play.
Concept 3
The final part provides 30 seconds of preparation for a one-to-two-minute talk followed by questions.
