International ESOL SELT Level and Route Selection
Choose the separate A1, A2 or B1 Speaking & Listening test required for the specific family, extension, settlement or citizenship route.
Choose first, then prepare the right test
Start with the route's required skills and CEFR level. Four-skill Academic and General tests and the two-skill A1-A2-B1 suite are not interchangeable.
Core concepts
Concept 1
International ESOL SELT is currently a two-skill suite with separate single-level A1, A2 and B1 bookings.
Exam cue: Read the current route page before choosing A1, A2 or B1.
Concept 2
The route decides whether A1, A2 or B1 is required; the candidate does not take one adaptive test and receive any of the three levels.
Exam cue: Confirm that only Speaking and Listening are required.
Concept 3
The former four-skill International ESOL SELT is not a current booking option, although qualifying legacy results can remain valid for two years.
Exam cue: Do not confuse the current two-skill suite with ordinary International ESOL or the retired four-skill SELT.
