What does “IOSH Construction Safety” mean in this guide?
It is the tracker slug for IOSH's current construction-specific awareness-course family. The current product names are Safety, Health and Environment for Construction Workers and Safety, Health and Environment for Construction Site Managers. They remain distinct routes inside this module rather than a single invented exam.
Are these current IOSH qualifications?
IOSH categorises both as awareness courses. Successful delegates receive IOSH course certificates. CITB maps the Workers course as equivalent to an RQF Level 1 or SCQF Level 4 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment, but that mapping does not turn either course into the separate IOSH Level 3 Certificate professional qualification.

What is the current assessment format?
The public fact sheets confirm an end-of-course exam leading to an IOSH certificate. They do not publish a universal question count, duration, item format, pass mark or scored topic allocation. The approved provider's current instructions control those operational details.
Is the developing scenario or case study a separate assessed component?
Current IOSH material says a scenario or case study develops throughout the course so delegates can practise skills and apply learning. Public material does not describe it as a separately scored component, so this guide uses case studies for practice without inventing a formal assessment section.
Does the Workers course automatically provide a CSCS Labourer card?
No. CSCS currently lists the Workers certificate as an accepted qualification alternative for the Labourer card, subject to its current delivery and validity conditions, but applicants also need the appropriate CITB Health, Safety and Environment test and must complete the card application with the required evidence.
Can IOSH Workers e-learning be used for the CSCS Labourer route?
Current IOSH and CSCS guidance excludes self-paced IOSH e-learning for this card route. CSCS currently lists classroom and live virtual face-to-face delivery, and the IOSH course page describes the accepted route as delivered in person. Does the Site Managers course replace a CITB Managers and Professionals test or another card requirement?

Does a course certificate prove construction competence?
No. It records successful course completion. It does not prove a trade skill, authorise plant or high-risk work, appoint a CDM dutyholder or replace site induction, task-specific training, supervision, permits, inspections, examinations or rescue planning.
Which construction law applies across the UK?

Does this module include IOSH Managing Safely or Working Safely?
No. Those are separate IOSH products and separate tracker slugs. This module only maps the two current construction-specific Safety, Health and Environment courses.
