Exam cue: Confirm the current WJEC route, unit, task and assessment control before choosing a reading, writing or speaking strategy.

Exam cue: Transform an idea from the stimulus into an original controlling concept, then sustain the chosen form and voice through revision.
Concept 3
Planning, drafting, evaluation, refinement and accurate Welsh control
Exam cue: Use the English guidance to plan the skill, but cite, analyse and produce the assessed response in accurate Welsh.
Risk pitfalls and guardrails
Copying the stimulus, losing the chosen form or producing an unrelated memorised piece.
Guardrail: Practice cannot replace the live WJEC task, current series materials, centre controls, authentication, recording, marking or moderation.
Answering the assessed task in English or translating away the Welsh wording, quotation, register, grammar or literary effect being assessed.
Guardrail: Do not translate away the assessed Welsh, bind optional texts universally or combine mutually exclusive award routes.
Binding every learner to an optional centre-selected text, poem or stimulus, or combining Single and Double Award units into one route.
Guardrail: Use Units 1-3 plus 4a for Single or Units 1-3 plus 4b, 5 and 6 for Double; never add weights or tasks across routes.
