Distinguish what the passage establishes, contradicts or leaves unresolved by checking the full evidential burden.

Concept 1
A claim is supported only when the passage provides enough information for that exact wording.
Exam cue: Search separately for confirming evidence and conflicting evidence.

Absence of support is not the same as contradiction.
Exam cue: Use the least committal status when the passage cannot decide the claim.
Risk pitfalls and guardrails
Calling a statement false merely because it is not mentioned.

Contradiction
A contradicted claim conflicts with supplied information.
Unresolved
If neither support nor contradiction is available, the passage cannot decide it.
Burden Match
The evidence must match the claim's exact strength.

Missing information does not establish the opposite.

Check later qualifications before fixing the truth status.
