How to prepare for R06

Complete broad R01-R05 revision first, then use the two-week pre-release window to map each client’s facts, gaps, calculations and possible solutions before practising concise mark-led answers.

Core concepts

Concept 1

Implementation covers client agreement, priorities, applications, transfers, underwriting, trusts or nominations, provider and professional coordination, records and confirmation.

Exam cue: Put actions into a dependency-aware order and identify who must do what.

Concept 2

Reviews compare actual progress with objectives and appropriate benchmarks across cash flow, tax, investments, pensions, protection, costs, risk and client understanding.

Exam cue: Choose a benchmark that measures the objective or risk being reviewed rather than a convenient market index alone.

Concept 3

Personal, family, health, employment, business, market, economic, tax, law, product and affordability changes may trigger an interim review and plan adjustment.

Exam cue: For each change, explain what part of the plan must be reassessed and why.

Risk pitfalls and guardrails

Treating implementation as simply buying a product without documentation, sequencing or coordination.

Guardrail: Do not reproduce generic R01-R05 facts, repeat case details without analysis or give an unquantified product name without client-specific justification.

Listing generic annual-review topics without connecting them to the client’s arrangements and objectives.

Guardrail: Do not reproduce generic R01-R05 facts, repeat case details without analysis or give an unquantified product name without client-specific justification.

Comparing performance with an unsuitable benchmark or ignoring risk, cash flow, tax and protection changes.

Guardrail: Do not reproduce generic R01-R05 facts, repeat case details without analysis or give an unquantified product name without client-specific justification.
