How to study for CCEA GCSE Physics

Concept 1

A testable hypothesis predicts a relationship and is supported by physical reasoning.

Exam cue: Confirm the CCEA unit, tier and whether the task tests a model, calculation, explanation or practical judgement.

Concept 2

A valid plan changes the independent variable, measures the dependent variable and controls material confounders.

Exam cue: Name both measured quantities with units, state exactly how controls are maintained and connect each risk control to the hazard.

Concept 3

Range, interval, repeats, apparatus resolution and safety controls must match the intended conclusion.

Exam cue: Show substitutions and units, connect evidence to the physical model and limit the conclusion to the stated conditions.

Risk pitfalls and guardrails

Listing generic variables or safety clothing without explaining what is controlled or why.

Guardrail: Do not import an England board, Single Award or Double Award structure, and do not replace a causal physical explanation with an equation alone.
