How to prepare for UK Part-66 basic-knowledge examinations
Fix the intended A, B1, B2, B2L, B3, L or C route; use the regulatory module matrix and knowledge levels; then rehearse the exact MCQ and essay components that apply to each selected module.

Concept 1
The selected category controls the applicable modules and Level 1, 2 or 3 depth; Category C uses either B1 or B2 basic-knowledge levels rather than a separate C paper set.

Concept 2
Standard-route MCQs have three alternatives and one correct answer with a nominal 75 seconds each; Modules 7A/7B, 9A/9B and 10 also use 20-minute essays, while Category L examinations are MCQ only.
Exam cue: Track MCQ and essay parts separately because a failed part alone is the part retaken.
Concept 3
The pass mark is 75%, there is no penalty marking, the normal failed-module wait is 90 days or 30 after approved tailored retraining, and the relevant training and exams normally must fall within ten years before application.
Exam cue: Record attempt dates, providers and the intended application date before booking a resit.
