Integrated Planning
PMQ objective 19: explain the format, content and value of an integrated project management plan.
How to study for APM PMQ
Build precise APM terminology, compare approaches in context and practise short, structured scenario explanations using the command verb and mark value as a guide.
Core concepts
Concept 1
The project management plan integrates the baselines and management approaches for scope, schedule, resources, cost, risk, quality, change, communication, procurement, transition, benefits and governance.
Exam cue: Look for dependencies and trade-offs across scope, time, cost, resources, risk and quality.
Concept 2
Its format should be proportionate and usable, with clear ownership, interfaces, assumptions, dependencies, tolerances, reporting and control arrangements.
Exam cue: Explain who uses the plan and which decision or coordination need it supports.
Concept 3
Integration exposes conflicts and consequences across plans so decisions consider the whole project rather than optimise one constraint in isolation.
Concept 4
The plan creates a shared delivery and control reference for the sponsor, governance, project manager, team, assurance and stakeholders.
Risk pitfalls and guardrails
Treating component plans as unrelated documents with inconsistent assumptions.
Guardrail: Do not offer a generic project-management statement; connect the concept to the evidence, authority and consequence in the scenario.
Creating a comprehensive plan that is too static or inaccessible to guide delivery.
Guardrail: Do not offer a generic project-management statement; connect the concept to the evidence, authority and consequence in the scenario.
Memory anchors

Integration benefit
Expose dependencies, conflicts and consequences before decisions are made.
Shared reference
Give governance and delivery stakeholders a common basis for action and control.
Checkpoint rule
