Is this an official CIPS course or examination?
No. This is an independent study resource aligned to CIPS's public qualification, syllabus and assessment information. It is not endorsed by CIPS and does not reproduce secure live examination questions.
Which Level 3 modules are compulsory?
The four core modules are L3M1 Procurement and Supply Environments, L3M2 Ethical Procurement and Supply, L3M3 Contract Administration, and L3M4 Team Dynamics and Change. Each is worth six credits and all four must be passed.
Which elective should I take?
Choose one six-credit elective: L3M5 Socially Responsible Procurement for the Procurement pathway, or L3M6 Socially Responsible Warehousing and Distribution for the Supply Chain pathway. Confirm the option available through your study or booking route before committing.
Why does this guide contain six modules when the award requires five?
The official qualification has four core modules and two alternative electives. This guide preserves both elective syllabuses so it supports either route. A candidate completes only the four core modules plus one elective, not all six.
How is each module assessed?
Every module has a separate computer-based objective-response examination with 72 questions and a two-hour limit. CIPS describes objective-response questions as selecting a response from a list of possible answers.
How are questions distributed across learning outcomes?
The current full specification publishes an equal split within each module. L3M1, L3M2, L3M3, L3M5 and L3M6 each have four outcomes with 18 questions per outcome. L3M4 has three outcomes with 24 questions per outcome.
What is the pass requirement?
The objective-response pass mark is 70%. The Level 3 full specification states that candidates must achieve 70% for each learning-outcome section within an exam, and all four core plus the selected elective exam must be passed for the award.
How much study time should I plan?
CIPS sets total qualification time at 300 hours: 200 guided learning hours, 90 recommended additional self-study hours and ten exam hours. Each selected module represents 60 learning hours, made up of 40 guided, 18 additional self-study and two assessment hours.
When can I take the exams?
The current Level 3 qualification page says there are six exam opportunities each year. Dates, booking windows, timeslots and delivery options are operational details, so use the live CIPS exam schedule and MyCIPS booking information rather than a static study guide.
Does this guide provide an exact full mock?
No. The award uses five separate module exams, includes an elective choice and applies its pass rule to individual learning-outcome sections. The current Pass Harbor framework can support future objective-response practice but does not reproduce that route and result model as one exact full mock.
Are the 601 practice-question allocations official CIPS weightings?
No. This independent bank gives the four mandatory core modules 120 items each, assigns one additional item to L3M1 for a 601 total and divides the remaining 120 evenly between the two alternative electives. It uses the official module and learning-outcome structure for coverage but does not reproduce secure CIPS questions or claim to be an exact exam simulation.
