Bode Plot

Overshoot

Overshoot is how far a transient response exceeds its final value.

Settling Time

Settling time is the time needed for response to remain within a tolerance band.

Steady State Error

Steady-state error is the remaining difference between desired and actual output after transients decay.

Closed-Loop Transfer

Standard negative feedback gives T=G/(1+GH).

Integral Action

Integral control raises low-frequency loop gain and can eliminate constant offset, but it needs windup protection near saturation.

Phase Margin

Phase margin is the additional loop phase lag required to reach minus 180 degrees at unity loop gain.
