Concept 1
For an inter-ship routine DSC call, the caller selects the known MMSI and an appropriate inter-ship voice channel.
Exam cue: Select the directory entry, routine priority and lawful working channel before sending.
Concept 2
After the called station acknowledges, both sets can transfer to the nominated channel and the station that initiated the DSC call begins the voice call.
Exam cue: Read and accept the acknowledgement rather than guessing where the set has switched.
Concept 3
For a Coastguard or other coast-station call, the shore acknowledgement may designate the working channel; the caller must follow the displayed response and local procedure.
