Concept 1
Welding fume requires effective engineering control such as suitable local exhaust ventilation, with respiratory protection where the assessment requires it.
Exam cue: Control fume at source and protect nearby people from arc, sparks and fumes.
Concept 2
Gas cylinders, hoses, regulators, flashback protection and electrical welding equipment must be suitable, secured, checked and isolated correctly.
Exam cue: Keep cylinders upright, secured and away from damage, heat and incompatible storage.
Concept 3
Hot work on or near pipework needs contents identified, isolated and made safe, plus fire prevention and post-work monitoring.
Exam cue: Confirm a vessel or pipe is clean and safe before applying heat.
