How to prepare for the CAA GVC
Start with the current certificate and authorisation boundary, work through the five official subjects, then apply the material to mission planning, abnormal procedures and post-flight records with your approved RAE(PC).

Concept 1
Every Specific-category Operational Authorisation defines its own scope, limits and minimum remote-pilot competence; it may require experience, aircraft-specific training or other competencies beyond the GVC.
Exam cue: Ask who holds the Operational Authorisation and what exact operation it covers.
Concept 2
PDRA01 is a current pre-defined route for qualifying VLOS operations with UA from 250 g to below 25 kg in residential, commercial, industrial and recreational areas, but its conditions and the issued authorisation control each flight.
Exam cue: Match the remote pilot, aircraft, site, recent experience and procedure to the issued authorisation and Operations Manual.
Concept 3
The UAS operator remains responsible for the Operations Manual, suitable aircraft, personnel competence, records, insurance and compliance, while the remote pilot must follow the authorisation, manual and applicable duties.
Exam cue: Treat a certificate as one part of the competence case, not a substitute for operator and UAS-specific training.
